Classified as hardwood, unlike many other timbers, eucalyptus grows naturally without much tapering over its length. This makes eucalyptus poles highly desirable for use in commercial applications. Often used as a substitute for “pressure-treated” or PT pine, large-diameter eucalyptus poles are an option for structural columns and beams.
